Gospel Rising Weekend Event Guide

Well it’s finally here, the 9th annual Gospel Rising Music Festival is go! Hot on the heels of Mr. Sheeran, we are ready to rock Galway all weekend long!

There’s lots happening from Friday evening right through to Sunday afternoon that you can get involved in. Here’s some of our main events and details of how to get tickets, we’d love to see you there!

Friday May 18th

8pm: Big Festival Gig at the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are €15/12, on sale online or on the door. Fully seated, doors open at 7.30pm. Featuring performances from Ignite Gospel Choir, Newbridge Gospel Choir, Shannon Gospel Choir, Mullingar Gospel Choir and Gardiner Street Gospel Choir.

11pm: Sing Along Social – Gospel Rising Edition at the Róisín Dubh. Limited spaces, €5 on the door – singing is mandatory!

Saturday May 19th

1.30pm: Lunchtime Choral Concert at St. Nicholas Church, €5 on the door. Featuring three top gospel choirs: SUSO Gospel Choir (Speak Up, Sing Out), Cor Vadegospel and Mornington Gospel Choir.

8pm: Kevin Doyle Is Not Elvis is at Monroes, tickets on sale here or on the door for €15.

Sunday May 20th

12.30pm: Cathedral Mass with the Festival Chorus, all welcome to come along and join in.

2pm: This Is Me: Group Choral Workshop at Galway Cathedral, tickets in advance here or on the door for €10. Workshop is recorded on video and ends at 4pm.

Festival Pass Holders

If you’ve got a Weekend Festival Pass, we’ll see you at registration on Friday evening at The Black Box Theatre from 6.30pm. You’ll receive everything you need in your pass including a map, workshop timetable and list of the workshops you’ve booked.
