Michael Fay is a Musical Director, composer, and pianist based in the Leinster area. He co-founded the Maynooth Gospel Choir in 2003 and since then has gone out to carve a career in Gospel Music. Michael is also currently the Musical Director of Bray Gospel Choir, and the Junior Gardiner Street Gospel Choir.
Michael has a B.A. in Classical Music from Maynooth University as well as B.A. in Jazz Piano Performance from Newpark Music Centre (currently DCU Jazz).
In conjunction with his Gospel Choir experience, Michael has worked with classical, folk, and contemporary choirs.
Michael has worked with acts such as Jack L, The Magic Tenors, and Celtic Nights in various capacities and tours, including a stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Most recently under his musical direction, the Maynooth Gospel Choir performed a hugely successful Queen themed concert in the Button Factory in Dublin city!
Alongside his vast choral experience, Michael has been the Musical Director of countless musicals. His credits include MD for, (among others) West Side Story, Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Guys & Dolls (Naas Musical Society) for which he was nominated for an AIMS award in the Best Musical Director category in 2013. With Clane MS Michael was Musical Director for Godspell (2014), which won Best Chorus among others at the 2015 AIMS Awards.
