Moises Sala is a pianist, composer, arranger and choral conductor heading up The Gospel Viu Choir in Barcelona, in addition to running numerous workshops and masterclasses right around the world in countries as far flung as Madagascar, India, America, Russia and the Ukraine as well as right around Europe.
Moises also teaches the summer gospel course for the University of Girona, Catalonia and collaborates as a professor in the Postgraduate of Educational and Pedagogical Music of the University of Barcelona.
Throughout his career he has shared the stage with artists such as Natalie Cole, Jorge Drexler and Sharrie Williams as well as performing with the Soweto Gospel Choir, the Joyful Gospel Singers of New Orleans and the Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers. However, it is his work with the project Gospel With No Borders, of which he is most proud. Together with the Gospel Viu Choir he uses this organisation to fight for the welfare of the world’s children through this project of social responsibility and solidarity action.
Moises specialises in contemporary gospel and believes that we need to examine the roots of these spiritual songs, looking to the evolution of the music to pull their real meaning out.
