Nicky Brown

Nicky Brown

Nicky Brown was brought up in the arms of the Pentecostal Church movement during the seventies, being influenced by the richness of West Indian culture and British radio. His mother was an evangelist who gave him access to a wealth of American gospel music which she brought back from her travels to the states. The result of this crazy mixture has produced a musician, producer and composer.

Nicky has worked in across many genres and positions in TV, radio and recordings. This has culminated in three major publishing contracts, the first being with Virgin publishing which was bought by EMI publishing and beyond that Nicky worked with Chrysalis Music thereafter. He is now currently in an administration deal with Westbury Music publishing.

Regardless of the task, be it MD’ing a 5000 strong choir for the Queens Jubilee celebrations in 2002 with the beautiful Patti Boulaye OBE or working with Kweme Kwei Amah at the Young Vic / Nation Theatre, writing an Aria for ROH on the Nitro at the Opera project or MD’ing Joe Cooker, Sam Cooke, Boy George, Michael Bolton, Tom Jones, Beverly Knight or Jesse War, Nicky just wants the music to speak for him.

Over the years Nicky has worked with a huge number of influential musicians including Earth Wind and Fire (Millennium), Paulo Nuttini (Caustic Soul), Madonna  (American Life), B 52’s (Good Stuff), M People (Bizarre Fruit), Primal Scream  (Screamadelica), Bloc Party (Hymns), Emelie Sandé / Fulwell73 / House Gospel – Show Arrangements Pre and Post production / Music production Channel 4 Stand Up For Cancer, The London Community Gospel Choir and the list goes on and on.

Recently, Nicky has written 10 string arrangements for LCGC’s next RAH sold out show which he is also musical director.
