Ruaidhrí Ó Dálaigh

Ruaidhrí Ó Dálaigh began singing with the Palestrina Choir in Dublin’s Pro-Cathedral at the age of six and at eleven enrolled in DIT College of Music to study piano and music theory.

He graduated from Maynooth University in 2007 with an International BMus after which he directed the Maynooth University Chamber Choir for a further two years. Ruaidhrí was appointed director of Belvedere College Choirs in 2007. He was awarded the post of director of music of Cantairí Avondale in 2008. In 2010, he was appointed director of music of Third Day Chorale and Diva Voces in 2012.

Ruaidhrí has initiated three company choirs, The Airs (SSE Airtricity), Just Sing (Department of Justice), and AIB Customer Services Be Well @ Work Choir. He also established the Amici Singers, specialising in modern close harmony and the Maynooth Early Music Ensemble. Ruaidhrí recently established a male voice choir ‘Inhouse Voices’ who are made up of inmates in Mountjoy Prison.

In February 2016 Ruaidhrí set up ‘The Ramparts’, a close harmony male voice choir. Ruaidhrí is currently in directorship of five choirs; Belvedere College Choirs, Inhouse Voices, Maynooth University Chamber Choir, AIB Customer Services Be Well @ Work Choir and The Ramparts.
